Yes. We only get the distribution rights temporarily, which we share with our partners. The publishing rights and copyright remain entirely yours as long as you have cleared all the rights.

Do I stay independent?

Again - yes. We believe that artists should have full freedom. Should we still have to conclude a contract for legal reasons, this will be signed according to the artist's wishes.

Do I have any costs?

Normally, you have no costs for working with us. Please note, however, that we usually do not cover the costs for licenses and other things like that.

Store Specific

What are this audio badges on Apple Music and how can I get them?

Apple offers a variety of audio formats and quality standards that they indicate to listeners using various badges. Let's take a look at what each badge means and how you can qualify your music for Apple's listening features and standards.

Lossless Audio

For much of music streaming history, audio had to be compressed so that the large file sizes of the audio files could be played back in realtime on slower connections. As mobile internet has gotten faster, and bandwidth has increased, services have been able to offer uncompressed, full quality masters for your listening enjoyment! The Lossless Audio badge on Apple Music indicates that you are listening to an effectively uncompressed audio file that delivers the full fidelity of the original recording exactly as the artist, mixing engineers, and mastering engineers intended.

How do I get the Lossless Audio badge on Apple Music?

Lossless audio is available for all artists. Just upload your audio in an uncompressed format like WAV or FLAC and we will distribute it lossless.

Hi-Res Lossless Audio

Remember all that stuff about lossless audio? Well Hi-Res Lossless audio is just that but even more high resolution. This badge lets listeners know that the audio file they are hearing is at least 24-bit and has a sample rate higher than 48kHz.

How do I get the Hi-Res Lossless Audio badge on Apple Music?

Hi-Res Lossless audio is only available for H&S for Artists members. Upload your file in an uncompressed format and higher then 24-bit/48kHz.

Dolby Atmos

Dolby Atmos is a new audio format that is designed to deliver a three-dimensional, immersive audio experience.

How do I get the Dolby Atmos badge on Apple Music?

In order to get the Dolby Atmos badge, you first have to upload a compatible Dolby Atmos mix for your work. Once you have a Dolby Atmos mix, it's easy to upload your Dolby Atmos content with H&S for Artists.

Apple Digital Masters

Apple Digital Masters allows you to deliver high-resolution masters with the highest quality audio to Apple.

How do I get the Apple Digital Master badge on Apple Music?

If you already have your music mastered via an approved Apple Digital Masters mastering house, let us know.

Note: ADM and Dolby Atmos are only available for H&S for Artists members.

How do I get the MASTER badge on TIDAL?

TIDAL Masters delivers the sound of your original master recording, so be sure to upload your master audio file in WAV, FLAC, or AIFF file formats. We recommend your original recording and mix be done at higher sample rate and bit depth (at least 44.1 kHz / 16-bit) to take full advantage of the benefits of TIDAL Masters.

Getting Paid

How and when do I get paid?

Earnings reports and payments are available to you as soon as we receive and process earnings from our partners, streaming services and stores. Usually the reports will arrive around one and a half months after the month. That means the business numbers for July arrive on September 15th. Your money is temporarily stored online until you add a payment transfer method.

When and how can I withdraw my money?

As soon as your stake exceeds $50, you can withdraw your money. Feel free to contact us with your preferred transfer method (bank account or PayPal) and we will initiate a transfer for you.

Does H&S Recordings have an affiliate program?

Yes, yes, yes. Refer your friend to us and get 2% of his earnings. The 2% is of course cut off from our part, your friend keeps his part in full.
